Electroplating
Few manufacturing steps are as demanding as the plating. To coat a large piece with ruthenium, for example, is an art that only few have mastered. C.W. ALBERT therefore operates its own electroplating shop.
We finish in extra-large baths, which we maintain with great care. This is how we create outstanding products that meet the highest quality standards in Germany and internationally.

Our new surface CARBONIA challenges the ordinary. The color reminds of obsidian, a black deep as coal, with a seductive sheen given by a very thin glass coating. And yet, the material does not seem familiar. The forms allude to metal, not to a mineral.
Because this deep shine discreetly reflects its surroundings, the surface adapts to the combined materials with its reflections.
The secret of CARBONIA is an electrochemical process that we have optimized through extensive research: during electroplating process, the nickel surface is coated with a thin coat of ruthenium.
